While walking on a beach in Maine the Summer of 2019, a local approached me and clued me in on the multitude of seaglass lying right underneath my nose. I found one perfectly rounded, seafoam green piece and was instantly hooked.
As my collection of seaglass rapidly grew, I knew there had to be a better way of honoring its beauty rather than having it sit in a mason jar. After trying my hand at wire wrapping, still, something didn’t seem quite right. Soon enough, I stumbled across the technique that soon became my passion; silver-smithing.
Come Summer of 2020, I enrolled in a seven-week program with a local jeweler, where once a week I was taught how to solder, pierce, forge, design, and set gemstones. By the end of the program, I made my first seaglass ring and the rest is history.
Today, I do all of the designing, silver-smithing, and stone-setting in my cozy Portsmouth, New Hampshire studio.
